Whilst looking for a location for SLOz’s new in-world location, I came across sims with the names of Boggabri and Toowoomba. Neither looked much like their counterparts of course, but I’m wondering what the impetus is for those names being selected…

The same impetus that had places like Perth and Woollahra being selected, mate. Linden has always had a tradition of using names taken from RL people and places of great importance.

Actually there are a bunch of Aussie names in SL. There are some regions and a whole host of last names that come from towns between Sydney and Wollongong. So, if you see anyone with the last names…Fairy Meadow, Bellambi, Coniston, Thouroul etc – these are all towns south of the National Park in Sydney. I live in Sydney today, but was born in Wollongong…
